McMeen Amigos: Summer Camp for High-Risk Children
We are running a 7-week Summer Day Camp for elementary students who do not have access to summer school, camps, or other enrichment activities over the summer.  Our festivities will be hosted at two local parks serving approximately 200 students.  (Both locations are across from apartments housing 100+ children from McMeen Elementary) We will provide resources, fun, and fellowship as we lift the importance of building academic skills.

The purpose of McMeen Amigos is to address the needs of our most vulnerable students – many who immigrated with their parents to flee a collapsing and violent homeland. The families are often isolated, traumatized, and struggling to survive during these challenging times.  The children are hungry, behind in academics, and afraid.

These Camp Days will be an opportunity to stand with these families to love and support the children.  We will provide lunch, a bi-lingual multisubject workbook, books in Spanish and English, and enrichment activities – all with a focus on building community and enhancing academic learning.

This is a volunteer driven project, and we need your help.  Here is how you can join our work .TeamUp Colorado was founded in 1995 by a group of community members who recognized the need for a local organization dedicated to helping homeless individuals. Since then, we have grown into a thriving nonprofit, serving hundreds of individuals each year.
